One of the most recent and promising developments in radiotherapy dosimetry was the introduction of 3D radiationsensitive gels. These gels present tissue equivalent composition and density, so they also serve as phantoms, and their response is largely independent of radiation quality and dose rate. Near-Infrared emission of O2 embedded in amorphous SiO2 nanoparticles

We report an experimental study on the emission properties of O2 molecules loaded by a thermal diffusion process at 200 °C into high-purity silica nanoparticles with mean diameters of 7 and 40 nm. The embedded O2 features a singlet to triplet emission band peaked at 1272 nm in agreement with the band observed for bulk silica materials. The photoluminescence excitation spectra have been determined in the visible and in the infrared range and are characterized by narrow bands peaked at 691, 764,and 1069 nm, respectively. SCOPO DEL LAVORO: La tcMRgFUS consente di effettuare una vera e propria esplorazione neurofunzionale per confermare ed ottimizzare il target lesionale prima di indurre una lesione cerebrale permanente. La scelta del target di trattamento si basa tuttavia su coordinate stereotassiche che non tengono conto delle diversità anatomiche di ciascun individuo. Essendo il paziente vigile durante tutta la durata della procedura, l'ottimizzazione del target di trattamento viene effettuata sulla base del feedback del paziente nel corso della procedura utilizzando sonicazioni di potenza sub-lesionale.
